Abstract: Summarises research on polar bears (Ursus maritimus) in Greenland since 14th meeting of IUCN/SSC International Polar Bear Specialist Group in June 2005. Research has focused on: testing new satellite tag for tracking polar bears; movements of individual polar bears in east and west Greenland; interviews with polar bear hunters in north-west Greenland about hunting and effects of climate change; and analysis of various pollutants and their effects on polar bears. Also presents polar bear catch data from Greenland for period 1993-2008.
