Record #203043:
A weak layer feature on the northern Storegga Slide escarpment / H. Haflidason, and 7 others.
Title: | A weak layer feature on the northern Storegga Slide escarpment / H. Haflidason, and 7 others. |
Author(s): | Haflidason, H. |
Date: | 2003. |
Publisher: | Berlin: Springer |
In: | European margin sediment dynamics : side-scan sonar and seismic images. (2003.), |
Abstract: | Presents chronological analysis of Core MD99-2289, taken from Storegga Slide escarpment (off Norwegian coast) during IMAGES V cruise in 1999. Using planktonic foraminifera assemblages, tephra layers and stable isotope records, identifies last interglacial period (marine isotope stage 5e at 125 ka) at 1,860 cm depth in core. Results of geological and geophysical analyses reveal that depositional conditions changed significantly in target area of northern Storegga sidewall at boundary between stage 5e (interglacial) and stage 6 (glacial). |
