Thermal, electrical, and hydraulic properties of sea ice / Daniel Pringle, Malcolm Ingham.
Title: | Thermal, electrical, and hydraulic properties of sea ice / Daniel Pringle, Malcolm Ingham. |
Author(s): | Pringle, Daniel. Ingham, Malcolm. |
Date: | 2009. |
Publisher: | Fairbanks, AK: University of Alaska |
In: | Field techniques for sea ice research. (2009.), |
Abstract: | Describes measurement of thermal properties (specific heat, thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, and temperature); electrical properties (dielectric permittivity and dc resistivity); and hydraulic properties and fluid permeability (noting connection with traditional and local knowledge related to salt harvesting). In each case, introduces importance of properties to various sea ice processes, dependence on ice composition, background theory, definitions, and research outlook. Covers measurements made in situ and on extracted cores. |
Notes: | In: Field techniques for sea ice research / Hajo Eicken, and 5 others, eds. |
