| Abstract: | Reviews processes and implications of ice-marginal moraine formation at Mýrdalsjökull outlet glaciers Kötlujökull and Sléttjökull. Kötlujökull discussion includes frontal ice contact fans, mass movement on frontal ice slope, and moraine-ridge formation (inc. sequential model). Sléttjökull discussion includes annual moraines (inc. sequential formation model), composite ridge formed at stationary ice margin, and annual-moraine spacing as usable climate signal. Also discusses neoglacial ice-marginal moraine ridges at Sléttjökull and Sólheimajökull. |
