Abstract: Summarises results of surveys of Punta San Matteo serac on southern margins of Forni glacier, carried out over period July-November 2005 with Total Station and laser scanner. Reports displacements of unstable ice mass (~12 m) and geometry and volume (~560,000 m³). Based on field campaign photographs, describes serac evolution, partial collapse, and gradual breaking into tiny parts. Finds serac displacements not strongly correlated with temperature changes.
