Abstract: | Discusses instances of live exhibition of Saami people from Norway, Sweden and Finland on urban stages in Europe and US. During 18th and early 19th centuries approx. 400 Saami were installed together with reindeer and tools in reconstructions of settlements where they were to perform everyday activities that could be viewed by visiting spectators. These exhibitions continued until ca 1950. |
