| Abstract: | Studies morphology and cryogenic structure of frost mounds in northern taiga of West Siberia, based on data from 10-m boreholes and surface surveys. Identifies significant distinctions in morphological and cryolithological features of mounds in different landscapes, for example in moisture of mound soils in fluvial-lacustrine plain and in rear part of Kheygiyakha river floodplain. Calculates diameter-to-height relation for frost mounds. Demonstrates influences of moistening degree and structure of natural-territorial complex upon moisture of frozen ground and mound convexity. Examines occurrence of contemporary heave processes and their geomorphological effect. |
