Локальные ландшафты как индикаторы геокриологической зональности (на примере европейского Северо-Востоке)

Title: Локальные ландшафты как индикаторы геокриологической зональности (на примере европейского Северо-Востоке)
Title, transliterated: Lokalʹnye landshafty kak indikatory geokriologicheskoĭ zonalʹnosti (na primere evropeĭskogo Severo-Vostoke) / G.G. Osadchai︠a︡, N.V. Tumelʹ.
Translated title: Local landscapes as indicators of geocryological zoning (case study: European north-east).

Language: Russian.
In: Kriosfera Zemli. (2012.), Vol. 16(3) (2012)
Abstract: Discusses how geocryological zoning is reflected in regular changes of permafrost character across a territory, and discord associated with zoning of Bolshezemelskaya tundra, which demands more precise definition of borders of geocryological zones and subzones. Presents map divided into continuous, intermittent, massive-insular, and insular permafrost. Discusses use of landscape-indicators, such as forest, marshy, and tundra local landscapes, and peatbogs, as main index of zone belonging. Considers cryogenic relief most appropriate index when local landscape-indicators are used for geocryological zoning, with universal group of indicators being peatbogs and, occasionally, tundra. Marshy local landscapes are not used in practice for indications. Forest local landscapes can sometimes be used, but do not depend on frost characteristic.
