Рубеж плейстоцена и голоцена - около 10 тысяч лет назад - время коренной смены типичных геокриологических образований

Title: Рубеж плейстоцена и голоцена - около 10 тысяч лет назад - время коренной смены типичных геокриологических образований
Title, transliterated: Rubezh pleĭstot︠s︡ena i golot︠s︡ena - okolo 10 tysi︠a︡ch let nazad - vremi︠a︡ korennoĭ smeny tipichnykh geokriologicheskikh obrazovaniĭ / I︠U︡.K. Vasilʹchuk.
Translated title: The Pleistocene-Holocene transition (at 10 ka BP) as the time of radical changes of typical geocryological formations.
Author(s): Vasilʹchuk, I︠U︡. K.
Date: 2012.
Language: Russian.
In: Kriosfera Zemli. (2012.), Vol. 16(3) (2012)
Abstract: Discusses geocryologic changes across Pleistocene-Holocene transition, as accumulation of Late Pleistocene syncryogenic "edoma" formation had been completed, and intense accumulation of Holocene syncryogenic formation began on vast areas of northern Eurasia and North America. Discusses observations including radiocarbon and AMS datings, oxygen isotope composition, etc., from continental Siberia, Alaska, and Canada, and adjacent islands. Considers cryolithologic indicators most reliable criteria for Pleistocene-Holocene differentiation in permafrost. Edoma sediments with large syngenetic ice wedges and massive ice in salty ground have been specific indicators for Late Pleistocene, whereas Holocene indicators such as ice wedges, palsas and pingos have not been found in Pleistocene.
