Abstract: | Describes five practical steps that have been influential in delivering harvest-based monitoring studies of fish and marine mammals in Inuvialuit Settlement Region, NWT. Steps are: to formulate scientific research question that can be reasonably answered by analysing data from harvests; design programme according to scientific and indigenous protocols; determine respective partner roles for delivery of field programme; conduct field work; and analyse data and communicate results. |
