Record #202635:

The utility of harvest recoveries of marked individuals to assess polar bear (Ursus maritimus) survival / Elizabeth Peacock, and 4 others.

Title: The utility of harvest recoveries of marked individuals to assess polar bear (Ursus maritimus) survival / Elizabeth Peacock, and 4 others.
Author(s): Peacock, Elizabeth.
Date: 2012.
In: Arctic. (2012.), Vol. 65(4) (2012)
Abstract: Presents updated estimates of annual survival rates for polar bears (Ursus maritimus) in Baffin Bay population of Greenland and Canada, using ten additional years of harvest recovery following period of active marking. Results suggest decline in survival of polar bears since period of active marking that ended in 1997. Some of decline can possibly be attributed to decline in spring ice concentrations over continental shelf of Baffin Island.
