Record #202598:

Archaean-Cambrian crustal development of East Antarctica: metamorphic characteristics and tectonic implications / S.J. Harley.

Title: Archaean-Cambrian crustal development of East Antarctica: metamorphic characteristics and tectonic implications / S.J. Harley.
Author(s): Harley, S. J.
Date: 2003.
Publisher: London: Geological Society of London
In: Proterozoic East Gondwana : supercontinent assembly and break-up. (2003.),
Abstract: Presents exhaustive updated review of history of different crustal provinces within East Antarctic Shield. Concludes that these provinces have records of different isotopic events and were amalgamated during Pan-African orogeny characterised by high- to very-high-grade metamorphism. Questions concept of older model of continuous Grenvillian province that supported SWEAT (south-western United States and East Antarctica) hypothesis.
