Record #202579:

Continental growth in the Proterozoic: a global perspective / Brian F. Windley.

Title: Continental growth in the Proterozoic: a global perspective / Brian F. Windley.
Author(s): Windley, Brian F.
Date: 2003.
Publisher: London: Geological Society of London
In: Proterozoic East Gondwana : supercontinent assembly and break-up. (2003.),
Abstract: Presents three tectonic environments for the growth of continents in Proterozoic time, namely: accretionary orogens, in which juvenile material is added to pre-existing continental blocks; collisional orogens; and rifts in supercontinents. Emphasises role of mantle plume tectonics in addition to plate tectonics in contributing to growth of continents.
