Record #202550:
Breeding habitats and new breeding locations for Ross's gull (Rodostethia rosea) in the Canadian High Arctic / Mark Maftei, and 3 others.
Title: | Breeding habitats and new breeding locations for Ross's gull (Rodostethia rosea) in the Canadian High Arctic / Mark Maftei, and 3 others. |
Author(s): | Maftei, Mark. |
Date: | 2012. |
In: | Arctic. (2012.), Vol. 65(3) (2012) |
Abstract: | Presents nine breeding records of Ross's gull (Rhodostethia rosea) in Canada. Five are from Queen's channel, Nunavut, and these include two new breeding records from 2011. Geographic proximity and similarity in topography, microhabitat, and interspecific nesting associations that characterise Ross's gull nesting sites in Canadian High Arctic suggest that additional surveys of surrounding suitable habitat would confirm stable and globally significant breeding population. |
