Abstract: | Describes origin and properties of deep waters in Irminger Sea. Discusses hydrographic data collected in Irminger Sea in 1990s-2000s which indicate that dense shelf waters carried by East Greenland Current south of Denmark Strait intermittently descend down continental slope and merge with deep waters originating from Nordic seas. |
