| Abstract: | Examines types of instruments used by indigenous peoples in Magadan in preparation of fur and leather. Focuses on fact that Eveny of 15th and 16th centuries changed from using stone to metal, possibly due to influence of Koryaki. Remarks that evolution of furriers' instrument suggests much cooperation between the sexes and also attests to innovative and flexible nature of Eveny culture. |
