Abstract: Report of collaborative project MODIL-NAO whose main objective is to give indigenous population of Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug tool - GIS map database - to promote their interests in area of intensive industrial development. Part one describes this project in detail. Part two presents maps of area, results of questionnaire survey, statistical tables of settlements; population data for 2004 and 2008; cooperatives and clan communties involved in traditional economies; reindeer husbandry development; protected areas; and licenses for users of subsoil resources. Appendices include questionnaire; legislation related to oil-and-gas development; and description of GIS database.
