Record #202125:
A study of the energy balance and melt regime on Juncal Norte glacier, semi-arid Andes of central Chile, using melt models of different complexity / Francesca Pellicciotti, and 6 others.
Title: | A study of the energy balance and melt regime on Juncal Norte glacier, semi-arid Andes of central Chile, using melt models of different complexity / Francesca Pellicciotti, and 6 others. |
Author(s): | Pellicciotti, Francesca. |
Date: | 2008. |
Publisher: | Hoboken, NJ: Wiley |
Abstract: | Describes use of data from two automatic weather stations on Juncal Norte glacier, central Chile, to test ablation models of varying complexity. Central Andes are semi-arid, with dry and stable summers, near-zero precipitation, low relative humidity and intense solar radiation. Results are contrasted to ablation processes in glaciers of European Alps. |
