In: Mezhėtnicheskie vzaimodeĭstvii︠a︡ i sot︠s︡iokulʹturnai︠a︡ adaptat︠s︡ii︠a︡ narodov Severa Rossii. (2006.),
Abstract: Presents results of field work carried out in Turgo-Chumanskiy Rayon (Khabarovskiy Kray) in 2003-4. Analyses current situation of cultural health and economic activity including fishing and reindeer herding. Provides demographic statistics for family structure, inter-ethnic marriage, and birth-rate. Highlights loss of Evenki traditional culture, assimilation and problem of drunkenness. Also discusses conflict with Russia over land rights and the ecological situation. Notes that new type of community is emerging in many regions of Russian North, that of samodel'niye (self-made) people.
