Well-posed boundary conditions for limited-domain models of transient ice flow near an ice divide / Michell R. Koutnik, Edwin D. Waddington.

Title: Well-posed boundary conditions for limited-domain models of transient ice flow near an ice divide / Michell R. Koutnik, Edwin D. Waddington.
Author(s): Koutnik, Michell R.

Date: 2012.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (2012.), Vol. 58(211) (2012)
Abstract: When ice flow model is constrained by data that exist over only secion of ice sheet, it is best to limit model domain to that section. However accuarately calculating ice sheet evolution depends on calculating transient ice flux crossing boundaries. Offers approach using impulse-response functions to provide boundary values informed by external ice sheet without conventionally nesting the limited domain in a full ice sheet model. This permits evolution within limited domain consistent with that of full ice sheet.
