Record #201126:
A new estimate of tundra-biome phytomass from trans-Arctic field data and AVHRR NDV1 / Martha K. Raynolds, and 4 others.
Title: | A new estimate of tundra-biome phytomass from trans-Arctic field data and AVHRR NDV1 / Martha K. Raynolds, and 4 others. |
Author(s): | Raynolds, Martha K. |
Date: | 2012. |
In: | Remote Sensing Letters. (2012.), Vol. 3(3-5) (2012) |
Abstract: | Reports results of sampling of above-ground plant biomass at representative zonal sites along two trans-Arctic transects (one in North America and one in Eurasia) and comparison of data with satellite-derived Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Results show remarkably strong correlation between total above-ground phytomass sampled at peak of summer and maximum annual NDVI. Relationship was almost identical for North American and Eurasian transects. |
