Late Holocene hunter-gatherers at L'Anse aux Meadows and the dynamics of bird and mammal hunting in Newfoundland / Todd J. Kristensen, Jenneth E. Curtis.

Title: Late Holocene hunter-gatherers at L'Anse aux Meadows and the dynamics of bird and mammal hunting in Newfoundland / Todd J. Kristensen, Jenneth E. Curtis.
Author(s): Kristensen, Todd J.
Curtis, Jenneth E.
Date: 2012.
In: Arctic Anthropology. (2012.), Vol. 49(1) (2012)
Abstract: Exploration at L'Anse aux Meadows shows evidence of pre-contact hunting and subsistence activities by Recent Indians (2000-500 BP) and their Beothuk descendents. Interpretation of data from forty years of excavations confirms that birds and mammals were harvested and tools prepared for mammal-hunting, both at L'Anse aux Meadows and at other locations.
