Record #200966:
Phytoplankton and microbial plankton of the Labrador Sea / William K.W. Li.
Title: | Phytoplankton and microbial plankton of the Labrador Sea / William K.W. Li. |
Author(s): | Li, William K. W. |
Date: | 2012. |
In: | ICES Cooperative Research Report. (2012.), Vol. 313 (2012) |
Abstract: | Outlines physical oceanography of Labrador Sea, and effects of water masses on availability of nutrient reserves. Reports that phytoplankton are mixture of major taxonomic groups common to boreal and temperate waters. Numerically dominant species in entire region appears to be picoeukaryotic prasinophyte Micromonas, which is thought to form baseline community persisting through all seasons. Discusses seasonal and interannual trends in planktonic and microbial change. |
Notes: | ICES Cooperative Research Report. Vol. 313 :32-37 (2012). Special issue: ICES phytoplankton and microbial plankton status report 2009/2010. |
