Abstract: Investigates vertical patterns of abundance and diversity of fungi and their relationship with chemical properties within profiles of mosses (Hylocomium splendens and Racomitrium lanuginosum) collected in Oobloyah Bay area, Ellesmere Island. Finds that moss species significantly affect distribution of fungi. Individual fungi taxa show patterns of vertical distribution within moss profiles.
