Morphodynamic evolution of Kongsfjorden, Svalbard, during the Late Weichselian and Holocene / S.E. Maclachlan, J.A. Howe, M.E. Vardy.
Title: | Morphodynamic evolution of Kongsfjorden, Svalbard, during the Late Weichselian and Holocene / S.E. Maclachlan, J.A. Howe, M.E. Vardy. |
Author(s): | Maclachlan, S. E. Howe, J. A. Vardy, M. E. |
Date: | 2010. |
Publisher: | London: Geological Society |
In: | Fjord systems and archives. (2010.), |
Abstract: | Presents combination of fjord bathymetry and shallow seismic data from Kongsfjorden and Krossfjorden, Svalbard, to characterise and analyse change in fjord coastal environment physiography and glaciosedimentary processes since Last Glacial Maximum. Swath bathymetry reveals that series of several styles of landform, frequently imposed upon each other, permitting reconstruction of relative timings of deposition of each landform with oldest successively overlain and cross-cut by younger landforms and erosional processes. |
Notes: | In: Fjord systems and archives / J.A. Howe, and 3 others. |
