Record #200822:

Elephant seal foraging dives do indeed track prey distribution, but temperature influences the distribution of prey: reply to Boersch-Supan et al. (2012) / Trevor McIntyre, and 5 others.

Title: Elephant seal foraging dives do indeed track prey distribution, but temperature influences the distribution of prey: reply to Boersch-Supan et al. (2012) / Trevor McIntyre, and 5 others.
Author(s): McIntyre, Trevor.
Date: 2012.
Publisher: Oldendorf/Luhe: Inter-Research
Abstract: Replies to Boersch-Supan's challenge to McIntyre's research conclusion that elephant seal (Mirounga leonina) foraging dives track temperature. Maintains that Boersch-Supan's critique is unfounded because prey distribution varies with temperature distribution, and Boersch-Supan's data set was both small and had limited spatial overlap with McIntyre's study area.
