Record #200778:

Data from L-3 Klein sonar to be used in Bering Sea surveys / Anon.

Title: Data from L-3 Klein sonar to be used in Bering Sea surveys / Anon.
Date: 2012.
In: Sea Technology. (2012.), Vol. 53(7) (2012)
Abstract: Notes forthcoming deployment of updated version of L-3 Klein 7180 Long-Range Side Scan Sonar (LRSSS) in surveys of Bering sea for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's research on fish habitats. LRSSS was upgraded to improve performance and quality of data produced for essential fish habitat characterisation and mapping. System now provides cascade calibration, which uses overlapping data swaths to transfer calibrated backscatter from downward-looking sonar to other acoustic sub-systems covering nadir under tow-fish and side-scan regions.
Notes:

Sea Technology. Vol. 53(7) :60 (2012).

Keywords: 53.087.23 -- Remote sensing.
551.46.08 -- Oceanography, instruments.
639.2.001 -- Fisheries research.
