Record #200766:

Remote sensing of snow - a review of available methods / Andreas Juergen Dietz, and 3 others.

Title: Remote sensing of snow - a review of available methods / Andreas Juergen Dietz, and 3 others.
Author(s): Dietz, Andreas Juergen.
Date: 2012.
In: International Journal of Remote Sensing. (2012.), Vol. 33(13-14) (2012)
Abstract: Reviews most common methods of remote sensing for mapping snow cover extent and mass. Summarises physical and spectral properties of snow, and outlines methods to map snow extent from reflective part of spectrum, algorithms to estimate snow water equivalent from passive microwave data, and combination of both spectra. Discusses merits and limitations of methods, error sources, and mitigation of errors.
