Record #200643:
The 420,000-year climate record from the Vostok ice core / Jean-Robert Petit.
Title: | The 420,000-year climate record from the Vostok ice core / Jean-Robert Petit. |
Author(s): | Petit, Jean-Robert. |
Date: | 2006. |
Publisher: | Oxford: Blackwell |
In: | Glacier science and environmental change. (2006.), |
Abstract: | Summarises main results from palaeoclimate reconstruction from first 3310 m of Vostok ice core. Reconstructs past temperature, greenhouse gas content (CO₂, CH₄), and concentrations of aerosols of marine and continental origin. Deduces variations of temperature at surface of ice sheet from stable isotope (deuterium and oxygen) composition of ice. |
Notes: | In: Glacier science and environmental change / Peter G. Knight, ed. |
Keywords: | 711.42(2) -- Settlements and stations, specific: Vostok. 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.324 -- Land ice. 551.324.24 -- Ice sheets and caps. 551.337 -- Chronology of the Pleistocene and recent periods. 551.58 -- Climatology. 551.583 -- Climatic changes. 54.027 -- Isotope analysis. 550.93 -- Geochronology. 54 -- Chemistry. 551.524 -- Air temperature. 622.14 -- Core sampling, ice and snow.
