Bitumen biomarkers in the mid-Proterozoic Ilímaussaq intrusion, southwest Greenland: a challenge to the mantle gas theory / T. Laier, H.P. Nytoft.

Title: Bitumen biomarkers in the mid-Proterozoic Ilímaussaq intrusion, southwest Greenland: a challenge to the mantle gas theory / T. Laier, H.P. Nytoft.
Author(s): Laier, T.
Nytoft, H. P.
Date: 2012.
Publisher: [Amsterdam]: Elsevier
Abstract: Bitumen dispersed in rocks of Ilímaussaq intrusion in south-west Greenland is biotic in origin, not abiogenic as has been assumed hitherto. This is important for future offshore oil exploration and has implications for deep gas theory. In addition, similarities have been shown to exist between Ilímaussaq and alkaline massifs on Kola Peninsula, Russia.
