| Abstract: | Describes Chukchi Sea Offshore Monitoring in Drilling Area - Chemical and Benthos (COMIDA-CAB) project, collaborative research effort aiming to provide baseline information on biological, physical and chemical characteristics of Chukchi Sea lease area 193. Biological surveys document abundance and spatial distribution of benthic fauna and epifauna. Sediments are analyzed for grain size, organic carbon, radioisotopes for "down-core" dating, trace metals and concentrations of straight chain and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. |
