| Abstract: | Investigation, using Poisson regression model, into effect on ringed seals (Phoca hispida) of construction and oil production activities on artificial island of Northstar, built in nearshore Alaskan Sea. Seal densities were only marginally affected by proximity to Northstar as opposed to effects of habitat, temporal and weather factors which proved to be of greater importance. |
