Record #200228:

Late Quaternary terrigenous sedimentation in the western Arctic Ocean as exemplified by a sedimentary record from the Alpha Ridge / Weinan Liu, and 5 others.

Title: Late Quaternary terrigenous sedimentation in the western Arctic Ocean as exemplified by a sedimentary record from the Alpha Ridge / Weinan Liu, and 5 others.
Author(s): Liu, Weinan.
Date: 2011.
In: Advances in Polar Science. (2011.), Vol. 22(4) (2011)
Abstract: Investigates terrigenous components in sediment core B84A from Alpha Ridge, western Arctic Ocean, to reconstruct Mid- to Late Quaternary variations in sedimentation, provenance and related climate changes. Identifies 12 ice-rafted detritus events and suggests that these occurred mostly during deglaciation. Develops stratigraphic framework for core B84A, based on Mn content, Ca content, colour reflectance, and foraminiferal abundance cyclicity compared with earlier established Arctic Ocean stratigraphies.
