| Abstract: | Focusses on progress since previous edition in mapping extent of Pyrenean ice field, quantifying geomorphological impact of glaciation on preglacial landscape, and refining chronology of glacial fluctuations. Improved mapping largely concerns eastern part of range. Most progress has been achieved through correlating new cosmogenic radionuclide dating of glacial landforms and optically stimulated luminescence dating of glaciofluvial outwash deposits with existing radiocarbon ages of ice-marginal sediments, supported by palynological investigations and morphostratigraphical studies. |
