Record #200126:

The glacial history of the British Isles during the Early and Middle Pleistocene: implications for the long-term development of the British ice sheet / Jonathan R. Lee, and 7 others.

Title: The glacial history of the British Isles during the Early and Middle Pleistocene: implications for the long-term development of the British ice sheet / Jonathan R. Lee, and 7 others.
Author(s): Lee, Jonathan R.
Date: 2011.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Quaternary glaciations - extent and chronology : a closer look. (2011.),
Abstract: Examines spatial and temporal patterns in scale of glaciation within Early and Middle Pleistocene British Isles. Discusses long-term sedimentary archival evidence from UK continental shelf and margin, and North Sea and "Crag" basins. Summarises lithological evidence from Kesgrave proto-Thames terrace sequence, and till successions of Middle Pleistocene glacial sequence of Eastern England and Midlands. Examines till provenance and constituents for Midlands and East Anglia and offers ice flow models for Middle Pleistocene based on these. Discusses difficulties of stratigraphical and chronological correlation.
