Quaternary glaciations in Austria / Dirk van Husen.

Title: Quaternary glaciations in Austria / Dirk van Husen.
Author(s): Husen, Dirk van.
Date: 2011.
Publisher: Amsterdam: Elsevier
In: Quaternary glaciations - extent and chronology : a closer look. (2011.),
Abstract: Provides overview of Quaternary period describes four principal glaciations in eastern Alps (Günz, Mindel, Riss, Würm), and refers to additional cold stage between two older glaciations. Examines evidence for tectonic activity, discusses development of Inn and Enns valley glaciers, and formation of over-deepened valleys. Describes climatic pattern of last interglacial-glacial cycle, chronology of final climatic deterioration and glacier advance phase, and subsequent period of ice decay, as seen in Bühl, Steinach, Gschnitz, Daun, and Egesen phases.
