Традиции и инновации в культуре городских и сельских хантов

Title: Традиции и инновации в культуре городских и сельских хантов
Title, transliterated: Tradit︠s︡ii i innovat︠s︡ii v kulʹture gorodskikh i selʹskikh khantov / A. Kerezhi.
Translated title: Traditions and innovations in the culture of urban and rural Khanty.
Author(s): Kerezhi, A.
Date: 2010.
Publisher: Moskva: Avgust Borg
Language: Russian.
In: Ėtnokulʹturnoe nasledie narodov Severa Rossii : k i︠u︡bilei︠u︡ doktora istoricheskikh nauk professora Z.P. Sokolovoĭ. (2010.),
Abstract: Explores difficulties presented by preservation of identity and culture of settled Khanty people of Russian North. Differentiates present day Khanty into three different groups defined by level of urbanisation and employment. Discusses their material culture, national dress, customs, employment, food, and festivals. Concludes that despite assimilation, negative effects of gas and oil industry, and continuing erosion of Khanty culture, elimination of culture is not likely due to increasing awareness and efforts of Khanty themselves to preserve their culture. Cites examples from Yamalo-Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug and Khanty-Mansiyskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug.
