Record #199958:

Devlopment of a model for ice core dating based on grain elongation / Carlos L. Di Prinzio, O.B. Nasello.

Title: Devlopment of a model for ice core dating based on grain elongation / Carlos L. Di Prinzio, O.B. Nasello.
Author(s): Di Prinzio, Carlos L.
Nasello, O. B.
Date: 2011.
In: Polar Science. (2011.), Vol. 5(3) (2011)
Abstract: Presents simple quasi-empirical model to calculate deformation rate and age scale corresponding to ice core depth, where grain size and shape are determined only by grain growth and grain deformation processes. Model results are in good agreement with measured values of rate of grain deformation and age scale for GIPS2 ice core at depths above 700 m.
