Record #199939:

Spatial and thermal characteristics of mountain permafrost, northwest Canada / Antoni G. Lewkowicz, and 3 others.

Title: Spatial and thermal characteristics of mountain permafrost, northwest Canada / Antoni G. Lewkowicz, and 3 others.
Author(s): Lewkowicz, Antoni G.
Date: 2012.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (2012.), Vol. 94(2) (2012)
Abstract: Research into use of monitoring stations in measuring air and air-to-ground temperatures both in Yukon and northern British Columbia. New mean air temperature map was developed taking into account measured lapse rates through forest zone which vary from normal in maritime south-west to inverted in continental areas. Because of sensitivity of region to climate change, further work is needed on numerical modelling based on spatially variable environmental inputs to predict future permafrost conditions.
