Record #199938:

Linear modelling of glacier length fluctuations / Johannes Oerlemans.

Title: Linear modelling of glacier length fluctuations / Johannes Oerlemans.
Author(s): Oerlemans, Johannes.
Date: 2012.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (2012.), Vol. 94(2) (2012)
Abstract: Describes linear first-order differential equation, with two parameters, used to model glacier length fluctuations. In first parameter (climate sensitivity) adjacent glaciers, Hintereisferner and Kesselwandferner in Ötzal Alps, were considered. In second (response time) four glacier length records from Oberengadin, Switzerland, were used to reconstruct equilibrium-line histories. Results were inconclusive, being consistent for Austrian glaciers but contrary to Swiss climate data.
Notes:

Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. Vol. 94(2) :183-194 (2012).

In thematic issue The mountain cryosphere : a holistic view on processes and their interactions.
