Record #199891:

Каменные глетчеры Колымского нагорья

Title: Каменные глетчеры Колымского нагорья
Title, transliterated: Kamennye gletchery Kolymskogo nagorʹi︠a︡ / A.A. Galanin.
Translated title: Rock glaciers in the Kolyma Highland.
Author(s): Galanin, A. A.
Date: 2012.
Language: Russian.
In: Led i Sneg. (2012.), Vol. 2(118) (2012)
Abstract: Describes study based on remote mapping and field work of Grand Rapids, Tumansky, Hasynsky, and Del-Urechen Ridges, and Dukchinsky and Kilgansky Mountain Massifs in Kolyma Highland. Identifies landforms morphologically similar to or developing in close association with rock glaciers. Notes significant quantity of such forms developing in active neotectonic areas, in zones of seismic-tectonic badland, and in association with active earthquake-controlling faults. Attributes most active rock glaciers to Late Holocene on basis of regional data on volcanic-ash chronology, lichenometry, Schmidt hammer Test, pollen spectra, and single radiocarbon data.
