Abstract: Examines possible futures for shipping and other issues associated with marine transportation in Arctic Ocean and its coastal regions from 2030 to 2050. Identifies key factors for plausible future developments using data accumulated in "expert workshop" of Arctic Council's Arctic Marine Shipping Assessment (ASMA). Presents four scenarios, consisting of permutations of strong/weak global economy and strong/weak governance system in Arctic.
