Abstract: Presents brief overview of project to evaluate how extreme levels of UV radiation may affect induction of different photoprotective pigments and avoidance behaviour in marine and freshwater communities. Studies were conducted from Oden at ten sites along East Antarctic coast from McMurdo Sound to Ferriero Bay, and in Dry Valleys at Lakes Fryxell and Hoare in 2009-10 field season.
