Record #199797:

Thermal erosion of a permafrost coastline: improving process-based models using time-lapse photography / Cameron Wobus, and 5 others.

Title: Thermal erosion of a permafrost coastline: improving process-based models using time-lapse photography / Cameron Wobus, and 5 others.
Author(s): Wobus, Cameron.
Date: 2011.
In: Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2011.), Vol. 43(3) (2011)
Abstract: Observes and quantifies coastal erosion of permafrost coastline in Northern Petroleum Reserve, northern Alaska, directly via time-lapse photography in combination with meteorological data. Observations indicate that erosion of permafrost bluffs is thermally driven, but that surface winds play crucial role in exposing bluffs to radiatively warmed seawater that drives melting of interstitial ice.
