Record #199790:
Characteristics and change in air temperature and glacier's response on the north slope of Mt. Qomolangma (Mt. Everest) / Xingguo Yang, and 3 others.
Title: | Characteristics and change in air temperature and glacier's response on the north slope of Mt. Qomolangma (Mt. Everest) / Xingguo Yang, and 3 others. |
Author(s): | Yang, Xingguo. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research. (2011.), Vol. 43(1) (2011) |
Abstract: | Study of spatial and temporal variations of air temperatures and relative humidity on north slope of Mount Qomolangma (Mount Everest). Warmer conditions have been observed in region since mid-1980s together with decrease in net snow accumulation. Accelerated retreat of Rongbuk Glacier since 1980s may be caused by rising air temperature and decreased precipitation. |
