Record #199765:

Cold Weather Admixture Systems demonstration at Fort Wainwright, Alaska / Lynette A. Barna, Peter M. Seman, Charles J. Korhonen.

Title: Cold Weather Admixture Systems demonstration at Fort Wainwright, Alaska / Lynette A. Barna, Peter M. Seman, Charles J. Korhonen.
Author(s): Barna, Lynette A.
Seman, Peter M.
Korhonen, Charles J.
Date: 2010.
In: ERDC/CRREL Technical Report. (2010.), Vol. 10(6) (2010)
Abstract: Describes Cold Weather Admixture Systems (CWAS), new approach to cold weather concreting that incorporates suites of commercially available chemical admixtures in concrete mixes. When used in combination, admixtures depress freezing point of concrete mix water, protect fresh concerete dwon to internal temperature of 23°F and promote early strength gain. Reports full-scale field test in March 2008 at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, provided opportunity to apply CWAS approach to infrastructure project on Us Army installation.
