Abstract: Describes study of dust particles deposited in snow on Glacier No. 72, Mount Tuomuer, western Tian Shan, China. Mean concentration of dust particles, mean mass concentration, size and volume distribution of particles were measured, in addition to ionic constituents, pH, and conductivity of dust. These were compared with other sites both in Tian Shan and elsewhere. Origin of dust was identified by back-trajectory analysis.
