Abstract: Ice cover of Upper and Lower Murray lakes on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, Canada, from 1997 to 2007, was assessed by synthetic aperture radar and Landsat imagery. Recent warming of High Arctic has moved lakes from state characterised by perennial ice cover to current seasonal melting of lake ice.
