Spatial variability of permafrost active-layer thickness under contemporary and projected climate in northern Alaska / Dmitry A. Streletskiy, Nikolay I. Shiklomanov, Frederick E. Nelson.
Title: | Spatial variability of permafrost active-layer thickness under contemporary and projected climate in northern Alaska / Dmitry A. Streletskiy, Nikolay I. Shiklomanov, Frederick E. Nelson. |
Author(s): | Streletskiy, Dmitry A. Shiklomanov, Nikolay I. Nelson, Frederick E. |
Date: | 2011. |
In: | Polar Geography. (2011.), Vol. 35(2) (2011) |
Abstract: | Reports mapping of geographic distribution of active layer thickness (ALT) and near-surface permafrost temperature on North Slope of Alaska, using stochastic approach in combination with equilibrium permafrost model. Determines spatial variability of ecosystem factors controlling ground thermal regime within each cgrid cell of permafrost model, using GIS techniques. Presents results as series of maps depicting geographic patterns of current and future ALT for North Slope. |
