Record #199644:

Snow and gales in eastern England from a North Sea polar low: 6/7 January 2010 / John Lawson.

Title: Snow and gales in eastern England from a North Sea polar low: 6/7 January 2010 / John Lawson.
Author(s): Lawson, John.
Date: 2011.
In: Weather. (2011.), Vol. 66(1) (2011)
Abstract: Describes mesoscale low that brought gale force winds and snow showers to eastern England from 6-7 January 2010. Climatology of such mesoscale vortices indicates that they are most frequent in polar regions during winter, with term "polar low" used to designate stronger systems.
